The United Nations Film, Television Performers and Arts Committee was registered and established on June 24, 2020, in accordance with Section 5A(1) of the Societies Ordinance (Chapter 151) of Hong Kong. Its registered address is Room 412, 4/F, Phase 1, Austin House, 22-26 Kessington Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The committee is chaired by renowned film and television actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and co-chaired and served as the general secretary by Professor Dai Yudong, a well-known Chinese scholar, writer and social activist. 

The committee aims to respond to the UN agenda, using film and television art as a bridge to connect global film and television actors and art workers. In areas such as sustainable development, building a safer world, assisting transitional countries, empowering women and youth, and poverty reduction, it promotes cultural and artistic communication and exchange to gather social forces, drive public welfare practices, and facilitate cultural integration among different countries and regions, thereby injecting artistic vitality into the development of UN-related undertakings. 

Its development has drawn attention and support from the United Nations. On October 21, 2019, the Department of Global Communications (DGC) of the United Nations responded positively to the application of the committee's related non-profit organization, recognizing its name and other qualifications. This laid the foundation for the committee to carry out international exchanges and work in concert with the United Nations to promote cultural public welfare, and helped to convey the concepts of peace, development and cooperation on the international stage through art.
